I have an 01 EB Explorer. I have the DPFE sensor, but I can't find it under the hood. It isn't where the crappy Hanes manual says it should be. Also, everyone I've seen or heard online were for V6s. Does anyone know exactly where I can find it in my 01 V8?

Thanks

All of the threads I've ready says that it is at the back of the engine, near the firewall, behind the intake and throttle body. Since I never found it on my early modle year '97, I have figured out that they did not put one in that year. I'm not sure if this helps you for your '01, but at least you've got another place to look.

Thanks. I've looked there. Either it isn't there or I've missed. I'm not sure exactly where it would be. If it's between the engine and firewall, there is no way I can get to it nor see it :( Anyone else out there with suggestions?

Thanks

There should be 2 hoses coming off of the EGR tube. Follow those, they go to the DPFE. It is behind the intake manifold just to the right (if you are in front of the engine) of the 90 degree intake elbow.

I have a '99 eddie bauer v8 and mine is right next to the EGR between the intake manifold and the firewall like rizzjc said. It took me a while to find on my own but it should be right next to your EGR.

Yup, it's snuggled back there. Terrible place to put it. My EGR valve and DPFE were just replaced and were thankfully covered under warranty. It's such a terrible location to work on.

AGREED. It's a ***** to get at. I finally gave up. It'll be more accessible when I get to Kansas this summer to get the TMH installed. :)
