This is a really ANNOYING problem and I want to fix it asap. The power is that the driver power lock works, unlocks and locks but say when I get out from the drivers seat for a quick sec to check if my parking is not close to the fire hydro, and when I come back the lock is placed into lock position. That little door lock thing that slides up and down, goes down by it self when you close the door. Not even slamming the door, just gently tap the door closed and its locked in. It's getting annoying to enter in the door unlock code all the time. So my question is, How can I fix this? I'm all for Do it yourself now and spend as little money needed to fix the problem
and plus on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the most easiest and 10 being the most hardest, what is this? thanks guys.

Plus, I was thinking about getting Blue Halogen head lamps for the X, what do you say? Is it worth it?

Never heard of this issue, only time I've noticed an explorer lock itself is when the brake is being pressed, you shift into drive and when you press the remote.. maybe your remote is getting interference with something? I don't know, this is odd.

No no, it's not the automatic locks at all. you see that door lock sliding thing is loose, so loose that when you close the door, it goes down into lock position by it self. I don't know any other way to describe it, I'll post a video up later on tomorrow.

I am pretty sure that there is a spring that holds tension on it so it doesn't do stuff like that. You may just want to take your door panel off and start looking at stuff.

I had that problem too. Started with the door locking on its own for a few months the same as you describe yours. It was annoying, but not enough for me to bother taking the door apart. Eventually the lock just stopped working completely, so I had to dig in and find the problem.

Here's what I did to fix it:

Thanks Sliver.

I'll try to do this week. I think it's my spring also. The door locks and unlocks on its own but once I shut the door, it just slides back in. Thanks a lot! :salute:
