I have a '01 Sport 4x4 and the driver side lock does not work. i took the door panel off and saw what seemed to be a motor wedged between the inner and outer metal. i was looking on for parts on line and i was going to get one of those motors but i dont know what it is called. If anyone knows what its called and the easiest way to change it that would be awsome.

yeah man thanks alot that wedsite is pretty awsome. is the lock actuator what controls the locks movement?

If equipped, remove the power door lock actuator.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Drill out the rivet.
3. Disconnect the actuator rod.
4. Remove the actuator.

thanks alot.. that was really helpful.. is there a sztep by step catalog on line or something?

But when you drill out the rivet, how do you reattach the actuator bracket?

You could try another rivet or nut and bolt.

Make sure all of the rods and linkages are attached first, we would hate to see you buy something you dont need
