Drivers door won't unlock

Hi guys
Recently my drivers door has been having difficulty unlocking. Initially happening occasionally then more so. I would hit the button on fob once to unlock just the front door and it would try to go but not. Then double click and it would open. Then yesterday it stopped popping open.

I could see it trying so i thought maybe a spring had come off somewhere or a plastic clip had broken, so i investigated this morning.

In the pic you can see the bar attached thro the yellow snap clip. If i moved this a little it allowed the unlock to work. Now i don't know if the top of this has a spring that is supposed to firm it as i couldn't see but the door handle spring is busted.

My solution was to open the yellow snap clip and move the bar down slightly to take out the slack in the movement. Yey it works

I had initially thought the motor was on its way out but thankfully this fixed it, glad i had a look before buying another motor.

Got exactly the same issue on my 98 - thank Jan, I'm going in!

I was waiting till I'd got all the parts to do a job lot - door switch is broken, window goes up on the piss and howls above 40mph - plus this but since it's been warm and I've no air con, the window is getting more use so at least now I can get two results while I'm in there.
