Driver's side door lock and handle.

I have a 2000 explorer xls and my power lock on the drivers door does not work, nor does the key work. now even when its unlocked i can not open the door from the outside.
the only way getting the door open is to pull the handle on the inside. any ideas of what is wrong and if so what i can do to fix this problem

Probably the actuator, pull the door panel and see if there is any movement, could also be the handle springs are frozen. Should be able to figure it out once you're indside.

the actuator has movement. there is no codder key on the lock and i think im missing a spring in the handle.

Just bought a door handle 2 days ago, 31 bux at the dealer and it has to be painted.There are better deals online but most of the time the shipping charges make up the difference.

I'm having the same problem, I've replaced the latch already before... and I know it's the latch once again just because the difficulty of popping the door open by the inside.. anyways... my question is.. I have a latch offered from a 92.. without power.. will it work with my power locks? Does it have the spot for the actuator?
