Drivers side door will not lock.....

Here's the deal guys, lately my drivers side door lock has been freezing up in the mornings when it's cold, meaning it's real hard to unlock the door with the key. I have to unlock the pass side and press the unlock/lock button a million times to free the drivers side up.

Fast forward to last week, I went to try to unlock the drivers door, and something popped inside, now the door lock cylinder does nothing, the key just moves back and forth. The door will not lock from the inside either, and the lock post does not move. Do you guys think that it's just a rod that came loose inside or something more serious? I'm at school without tools so I can't rip the panel off and look until this weekend.

Either the rod just popped off, or you might have to replace the plastic retainer that should cost a few dollars in an auto parts store. Motormite sells them under the listing of "help" parts.

I had a similar but not so drastic (drivers side would intermittantly unlock) problem and fixed it 100% by spraying some grease into the door jam.
