How and the heck would one get to the drivers 5.0 motor mount? Even if I used 12 extensions and swivels I dont see it happening. Its ready to come out besides this little snag. Any ideas?

Drop the front diff.

For real? They didnt make it easy. Think I'll torch the heads...thanks.

I’m pretty sure there’s a way to get it without dropping the differential.

I've done these before, easiest is just to drop the differential, about another 2 hours of work. 4 t20's for the front driveshaft, remove the front wheels, pop out the upper control arms (one pinch bolt and a whack with a hammer), use a prybar to pop out the cv-shafts from the diff leaving them in the knuckles, three 15mm's for the diff, done.

This is a parts Merc, not worth the trouble. I will follow your advise once the time comes for a rebuild on my daily. Thanks again.
