Hi,
I have a ford explorer 1995 EB and my DRL module stop working. When I go on the front left side and disconnect the connector, there is no power. I bought a new DRL module, but there is wires instead of connector. I'm trying to do like the manual said, but when I'm looking on the left side of the steering, there is only a connector, not the same in my manuel (cd-rom) but when I open the headlamp switch, the power is on, and when I close the switch, it is not working. But the other wires doesnt light up my 12V tester when the switch is on. Is there someone that can help me ? I am driving only with my right headlamp.
Thanks a lot.

How do you know your existing DRL module is bad???? Actually doesn't make sense that you only have your right low beam since DRL's don't touch your low beams at all!!! Hence, my question.

Your problem sounds more like the Lamp Out Warning Module. You state that the DRL module stopped working but didn't say why you think the DRL is bad. The CD repair manual has a very good point to point test for troubleshooting problems with the headlights.

I don't know anything about the DRL circuit. You do have autolamp, do all lights work manually? If so, skip the DRL module, kill it, remove it, etc. Instead cover the sensor in front of the mirror, the autolamp sensor. It takes some time to get it completely light blocked. When you turn on the autolamp, the headlights etc. should come on.

Or fix the DRL circuit. Good luck,

I missed the fact that you only had the right headlight the first time I read your post. I had the same problem with my 95 Limited. My problem was caused by a cold solder joint on the Lamp Out Warning Module. The plastic piece that is around the Message Center pops right off and the LOM is located under and slightly to the right. If it's like mine, you can move the wires around and the left head light will go on and off. You can also short between terminals 1 (W/LG) and 11 (DB/W) on the LOM to see if is causing the problem. I pulled mine to replace it and decided to have a look inside. I resoldered a cold solder joint I found and it has worked fine for the last three years.

Thank you all. I will look at it today and give news. Thanks

You need to understand what isn't working... ie. highs, lows, and DRLs (which run off of highs).... once you tell us for sure which are functional and which aren't, its pretty easy to determine where your problem lies and the suggestions to date have almost covered all of the possibilities.
