I was at the junkyard and removed a much nicer instrument cluster than mine, and hopefully the odometer works. I tried the solder trick on mine with no luck. In any case, should this just be remove and replace? Is there an issue with the mileage i.e will there be any issues with functioning and what mileage will show. I don't care if it is not the right mileage.

I can confirm it won't be the mileage for your truck.

is there any functionality issues with swapping?

I plan on just swapping the two, hopefully no issues.

If you don't swap the lcd screen or digital screen the mileage will be wrong.
There are shops that can set the mileage correct, just have to find them.
Or buy the 500 dollar tool yourself.

No care of miles switching, we will be driving this to the ground

I should prob. document the change, but don't know what the old mileage is, as current screen is dark, hence the change. We will see what the "New" Mileage is shortly.

so I completed the swap

and the fuel gauge is all over the place. dumb question - and I know the answer - swapping instrument panel cannot influence PCM or performance?
I would think not.

Can a 2003 instrument cluster work in a 2002?

did this work because I was going to put a 2003 cluster in my 2002
