I recently ordered the superturbo muffler for my 98 sport and was so excited!... Now Im so pissed off! I ordered http://store.summitracing.com/partd...922710+4294908331+4294924677+115&autoview=sku but they sent me this one http://store.summitracing.com/partd...922710+4294908331+4294924677+115&autoview=sku and as you can see in the pictures the one they sent me is 7 inches longer than it needs to be. the muffler case is the same size as the stock muffler its just the Y pipe on the front that is way too long. I measured on my truck from the pipe flange back to where the tail pipe starts and then measured the muffler they sent me and the superturbo is a whole 12 Inches too long! A whole foot too long! I then realized they sent me the 4 door muffler. I called summit to ask what would fit my 2 door and they said theyll ship me out the right part immediatly. I checked online and its the wrong muffler again! and i checked dynomax.com and they dont make a 2 door muffler. so then i went to Walker.com ( who owns dynomax) and they make a muffler for the 2 door (stock and performance) but walker calls it the new Soundfx series ( not filed under Dynomax or Thrush).

I was wondering if any of you have the new Soundfx muffler and could tell me how good or ad it is or know what Superturbo muffler would fit a 2 door. Thanks guys.

I did the same thing

Honestly I probably wouldn't purchase any of the Walker mufflers myself. I bought the one you were talking about because I figured it would be the easiest install and would retain a nearly stock look and sound. Well then I go and do a ton of research and learn a lot more about exhaust and I found that as far as the rest of the forum guys most seem to prefer Flowmasters and the Cherry Bomb Turbo. I myself did like the Magnaflow. If I remember correctly though it was either a Borla or the Aero mufflers that flow better. There's actually a chart somewhere I think it's at the top of one of the forums. Basically most guys will tell you buy for the sound because the flow isn't that much better. I've heard the Dynomax baffling melts. I know the Magnaflow one doesn't. The sound isn't like a V8, but it does sound good, sometimes maybe a little ricey, but when I romp on the gas it sounds great. I've noticed on mine that it tends to sound better after it's gotten warmer. I could have a small leak somewhere too, that's what you get when you and your brother do it yourselves on a cold garage floor in the middle of winter with snow and ice dripping off the truck. Anyways, good luck to you in your search. I personally wouldn't trade my Magnaflow unless I found something the flowed better with a better sound. But I like it, Sounds like it should considering it's a V6.

Thanks man. Do you know if they have a duel inlet muffler for the ridiculous duel inlet set ups on 98's? just wondering. Thanks I'll definatly look into magnaflow.

FloPro.com Just got the FP736 I believe it is. For my Sport. Havent gotten the chance to take it to the exhaust shop and get my new exhaust yet, but the muffler seems pretty good. Check out their site. You can buy them at completeexhaust.com. If you go to the FloPro site, you can email one of their "tech" guys with the application you are looking for and they can reccommend something for you. Good Luck

Yep

They sure do, I'm not sure of the model # off hand I'm pretty sure it's a 5x8. That's probably the best way to go about it. I bought the Y-pipe and welded that to my muffler and clamped the Y-pipe on the cut off exhaust. Might be a bit quieter than mine too, it's a bit longer I think. But it should fit right in there perfectly. It may say that it's dual out single in, but all Magnaflows are reversible. Except possibly the XL series. I managed to get my stainless steel muffler from partsplusautostore.com for about $60. I know YouTube has quite a few clips of 4.0L Ford engines with Magnaflows, just gotta find the right one for you, from what I've heard the SOHC sounds a bit more ricey than the OHV. But I sold my buddy on Magnaflow for his S10 last night too. Good luck man. I dunno if you mentioned it or not, but if you're wanting to go ahead and do a "cat-back" on yours the Dynomax tailpipe will fit with slight modification I was told from another forum member. I believe it was HunterDan. I'm still running a turndown. The tail pipe is just about $100 everywhere I've looked. Personally I'm going to try to weld up some mandrel pieces and make myself a side exit exhaust.
