EATC 052 code Blower on High

This post is for those with an EATC and whose blower motor is stuck on high and you run the EATC diagnostic (push and release OFF and FLOOR button at the same time then push the AUTO button) and you get an 052 code.

I had the above symptoms and the 052 code reference says this is a solar radiation sensor ground), well it is not. It is the blower motor speed control module located on the blower motor housing. You can choose to replace the blower motor speed control module with a new or junkyard part however, if you take it out and then remove the circuitry from its housing, you will likely see dirt, grime and oil build up on the back and front of the board. I cleaned mine, reinstalled and it now works perfectly (fan speed control works) and the 052 code is gone. My guess is the dirt, grime and oil on the circuit board is shorting the circuitry causing the fan to run on high and the 052 code.

from my reading, sometimes dirt on/in the blower control module can be the problem. cleaning it is certainly worth a try.
