Hey guys,
I have a question on the temperature range of the coolant on our EB 3.5. A couple of days ago I tuned my car with LMS 93. My config now is- catted down pipe from LMS, factory thermostat, 3 bar MAF. During the first trip after the 93 tune, I noticed (forscan) that the temperature of the coolant (ECT) began to grow when the car is stationary (ambient temp is not hot! About 68F). So I found out when the car is standing still with engine running and the AC is turned off, the temperature starts to rise and rise over 95 C (203F), and the fans are still standing and do not rotate at all. I turned off the engine so it wouldn't overheat. The next day (same ambient temp) I started the engine and turned on the AC and the fans immediately turned on and start to rotate at low power, and then after driving even if the car is standing still with engine running, the temperature is kept within 87-90 C (189-194F).
On the go, calm driving, the temperature is kept from 84 to 88 C (183-190F) and it does not matter whether the AC is turned on or not.. I think it was the same before tune. Is this behavior normal? On the stock tune, I didn't see temperatures over 100 Celsius (212F) even on a hot day on highway. My guess is that for some reason my fans don't turn on, which is why when the car is stationary with engine running the coolant temperature rises above 90 C (194F). What do you think?
