EGR on 92 XLT Explorer??

I need some help with locating the EGR on my 92 Exp XLT. My Chiltons shows it located on the drivers side front of the motor but I do not see it. I got 124,000 on the original engine and I'm getting spark knock at times.
Any suggestions out there??

If i remember correctly, the EGRs didn't start until 93, but I could be wrong

Really! No wonder I can' t find the damn thing!! How about a sensor then??

Nope. My 92 had no EGR. Also, I don't think Fords have knock sensors, do they?

No egr or knock sensor on our '92 XLT.
