2017 Explorer Limited
I have an odd issue with my 2017 Ford Explorer Limited.

Occasionally (randomly), electrical gremlins seem to possess my Explorer. This causes all doors to unlock constantly, numerous is times in a row. If I am driving the vehicle and this happens, all doors unlock constantly and the dash will show “Memory Recall Not Permitted While Driving”. If I am parked and this happens, all doors unlock constantly and the driver’s seat will move to another memory recall position. If this happens while the car is turned off, all doors unlock constantly and the hazard lights will flash. When this problem starts, it happens several (maybe even hundreds) of times in a row. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why this occurs. I cannot find a way to recreate the problem. When this occurs, I can hear what sounds like a relay clicking in the under-dash panel and the under-hood panel.

Any chance anyone has dealt with similar issues?

Welcome to the Forum Aaron.
The situation you described does not sound familiar. You could try a negative battery cable disconnect for a few minutes to see if that resets everything. You could lose some saved memory settings doing that. If no one else has any suggestions, Take it to your dealership to have it diagnosed. Some stores like AutoZone will do a free check for possible set trouble codes (DTC).
Good luck and wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year!

How old is your battery?

Thank you. I will try disconnecting the battery the next time this happens.

The battery is less than a year old. Shortly after I got the vehicle this started happening, so replacing the battery was at the top of my list.

I’ve recently purchased a USB OBDII adapter. I’m hopeful to be able to test the door module.
