I am restoring a 92 explorer xlt. I replaced the dash but not the wiring harness. Also replaced the pigtail for the headlight switch. While checking the various lights I noticed the fuel pump would run with the ignition key in the run position and the flash to pass function initiated. Before taking the truck off the road for the rebuild it did not have daytime runing lights but since I have been trying to figure out what is going on between the lights and the fuel pump it seems like they should have been working. Also the Ignition key /seatbelt/ lamps on warning chime comes on when the dome lights are on. Please help, this is driving me crazy.

Reset the Anti theft system.

If you have the fob you can just get in and close the driver door, then turn the key to on and lock and unlock the doors using the fob, next turn the key off and unlock the doors using the door switch.

If you don't have the fob the anti theft controller is in the jack storage and has a reset button on it. You still need to have the key in the on position for this method.

go back and double check the wiring at the ignition switch make sure no wires have slipped out of the connector or pinched some where then make sure you got the colors matched right at the headlight pigtail

Thank you for the suggestions and I will let you know what I find
