Hello Everyone;

Last week my 07 SportTrac started exhibiting some strange electrical problems but due to the sporadicness, the Ford dealer has been unable to reproduce and diagnose the problem.

It initially started happening in stop-and-go traffic but last week it happened while on the highway as well. Essentially the following happens:

- ABS and StabiliTrac light comes on
- Display in the Dash goes blank
- Radio goes off
- Doorlocks click

While using my blinker during such an event, the blinker light in the dash would still "blink", but the clicking noise was gone.

When I brought it to Ford last week for diagnostics - and inspection - the alternator and battery were checked. All was good there. I believe they also checked the battery cables/ground. Nothing found there either. The vehicle passed inspection which tells me the board-computer did not lose power, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to inspect it correct?

This morning, on my way to work, the car acted fine for the first 45 minutes or so. It then started acting up again.

I made a short video on my cell phone: http://youtu.be/eBSX93vy-dA

Have a look at second 45+. I am pulling away from a traffic light. You will see the ABS/Traction light come on, then the dash go out. You will hear the radio go off as well. The dash then comes back online, yet the radio remains off for a bit. I believe the dash flickers one or two more times.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any suggestions on what it may be? Any help/feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback so far. I went ahead and ordered a new ignition switch.

I just pulled code b1676 as well. Still ignition switch related you guys think?

That is wild, I really hope I don't run into that issue down the road
