Emblem Removal

I have a 95 explorer xlt 4x4 and im looking to remove that big explorer emblem on my tailgate. I am replacing it with a 98 explorer emblems (the ones that are on a slant "newer style") but i wanted to know some tips on how to remove the current emblems, and if there are going to be any holes under the emblem that i should know about, and if so what should i do in that case. Any suggestions, tips, and anything would be helpful.... thanx for your help -anthony-

i'd just pry it off while using a heat gun, just keep moving it, don't want to crack the paint or anything. that's how i got mine off, although i have a /93

This is also a 93. It looks like it was glued on and clipped in, but the holes could just be for alignment though.

Spray 3M Emblem remover on it and saw it off with dental floss or fishing line. Then clean up the residue with the 3M.
