Thanks for the link XFactor ;)

looks like the ones listed as 4 1/2" are the ones to get.

So when you order Energy Suspension Poly bushing they come with the 4.5" endlink or what. I need what Black Magic has.

If you order the Energy Suspension kit 4.5155 with a 'G' for black or an 'R' for red, it comes with the frame mount bushings and new end links w/ bushings. This is the one that both Explorer Express and Autozone have for $39.95.

When you measure the endlinks, you have to measure only the middle part, the tube part in the center from bushing to bushing. That's the true length, not from the head of the bolt to the tip.

On my lowered truck, I tried end links with poly bushings that were the stock length and a couple inches shorter. The results were it was not possible to tell the difference in ride or handeling.

Info I have gathered from various sources for my car pretty much leads me to believe that if it doesn't run into anything the length of end links doesn't matter.

What does matter is the diameter and torsion resistance of the bar, location of the link mount on the lever arm of the bar and the amount of play in the end link mountings.

The front Explorer links seem to have a lot of play with the bushings inline with the link. So poly link washers will help reduce that over stock rubber. It would only be noticeable at the start of the turn and the only improvement would be in how soon the bar catches and starts arresting the motion.

Euro high performance end links are ball joints mounted so the threads stick out sideways from the ends of the link and only compensate for side to side twist. They have Zero end to end motion so takeup of the bar torsion is Immediate and not after the cushion is taken up.

If you want to unscientifically test how much play there is...................

You don't have to go really fast to do it with your X because it should be easily noticeable. And if you don't feel changes of motion easily it probably isn't worth trying anyway.

So for those who will try anything once with their X, here we go!! SLOWLY!!!

The seat of the pants sensation you are looking for is "Falling" to the outside of a turn. There is a period of "Fall" from going straight going into a turn. Then the Swaybar loads and the "Fall" changes rate and becomes much slower. This first "Fall" is the Slack in the sway bar mounting. Bar size controls it from this point on.

The amount of "Fall" will only grow a very little with speed so it is pretty constant. So no Rollovers testing this OK?

Shocks affect the rate of "fall" but not the distance.

Too long winded!! I should stop now.

So Yeah I want to replace as much as I can with Energy Suspension parts. Go to Auto Zone and ask for an Energy Suspension kit for a 2001 Explorer SPort. This would include 4 1/2" Endlinks and front sway bar bushings. Now does this include control arm bushings. I know on the Energy Suspension there are front control arm bushings.

Ok and the endlinks are the 4 1/2" ones. Thanks. My local Autozone doesn't carry them so i will get them off line.

i went to the zone today ito see if they had what yall are talking about and i got the numbers off of them. the endlink number is 95165 and on the box it said 4 1/2". and for the greasable sway bar bushing i have 95161 and on the box it said 1"and 98121 and on this one it said 1 1/4" and i don't know if these are the right ones. please let me know if these are correct

explorerchick, did you notice a difference??

explodr04: The greasable sway bar bushings should be the part #9.5167 - 1 5/16"
(this is for 98 and up front bushings)

hydroxy: I've bought the ones by the part #'s I listed above, but havent had time to put them on yet :(

I noticed a very good difference. The only down fall is that they transfer more road noise to the truck frame the to you! Other than that they really help to tighten up the ride just that much more!
