engine blown?

Speaking from experience:

There is a time when vehicles cost more to maintain then a new vehicle would and are not worth the upkeep. Case in point: Splat. If I was out of school and had another DD I would have kept it, but it didn't work out that way.

If you need reliable transportation and you heart isn't superglued to the truck, I'd think about selling it and/or parting it out and getting another vehicle.

Just trying to help.

well i like it a lot, and its been really really reliable. this is the first problem ive had since ive had it except for spark plug wires, a new battery, and loose battery cables. i really rag it too, so i think it would be worth the new engine. plus i want to lift it. i think im going to keep it forever, for a project car after i get my next car.

If you really like the truck, get the new motor and rebuild the other in your spare time. Sounds like a good excuse to make a stroker if you ask me.

haha i was thinking about that but:
1) the bent pushrods may have gone through the cylinder walls
2) i have no idea how to calibrate the computer or where to get the parts to stroke it

if you can help me with this please do

Not sure where to get the kit. I'm more familiar with the Magnum engines then Ford. I'm sure there are other people here who have done it, so they should know what company to buy from, ect ect...

The computer should be fine. I would definalty flash it as it probably as an OBD-II computer. You can get a hand unit from hypertech for like $300 to do this, or you can find a friend that has one. The hand unit will let you flash custom tables and it serves as a code reader which is pretty handy to have.

yay!!! its finally done and it runs better than before. i was having some problems with the new engine, apparently one of the pushrods came out from between the rocker arm and the lifter and it was missing on that cylinder. the engine is soo clean i got it from a junkyard but its in like new condition, i had the oil pan off and everything, no sludge.

I know hydrolocked

and yes....you will need a new one....I got mine from Jasper....they are remanufactured...not rebuilt....they use all new Ford OEM parts but a used core.... they are $2800 installed and they have the best warranty out there....3 years/75,000 miles.... not too shabby.... I love my Ex and when the tranny goes...I plan on getting a Jasper remanufactored tranny too....
