Ok, last night when I was pulling into a parking spot in my apartment complex, my Ex just died, like the engine just shut off. I was cranking the wheel hard at low speed and its shuddered when I've done this at other times but this time it completely shut off. It restarted fine but I don't think it should be doing that. I've got a brand new alternator and a brand new Optima red top so neither of those could be an issue. Could this be a belt issue? Do I have a power steering problem?

It does it only when you are turning sharp at low speeds? It almost sounds like the load from the power steering pump is killing the engine.

Is the belt and pump excessivly noisy when you turn?

How does it idle with the A/C on?

There is no noise from the pump or belt. It only does it at low speeds. It idles fine with the A/C on, though every 30 seconds or so there's a little surge in RPM's (roughly 200 or so).

Did I stump the guys on this board or what?? I figured Alec would have figured this one out by now :)
