- 2008 Ford Explorer 4wd
2008 Ford Explorer. 131k miles. One owner.
Issue has been going on for a few months. Engine light comes on and flashes if I approach or exceed 80mph passing-it will typically go off once I drop back down to 70mph.
The engine light recently came on and stayed on with the engine code that showed I needed new plugs and wires. I replaced those 1 month ago. I used good plugs.
Yesterday, same issue-engine light came on and flashed approaching or exceeding 80mph. Code stated I needed a coil pack. Replaced that last night.
Today-same thing-engine light came on an flashed approaching 80 mph and went off when I settled in at 70 mph.
The vehicle is used for highway use only, on 2 hours routes. The vehicle runs smooth. I run good fuel and stay on top of oil changes.
Any idea why the engine light comes on and flashes at about 80 and goes off when I plane out at 70?
