2021 Ford Explorer Platin
I recently purchased a 2021 Ford Explorer Platinum V6 and when I start the engine and drive, there is a lot of engine noise in the interior. Is there any way to dampen this noise and make the interior quieter?

Can you be a little more specific?

I’ll try. You can hear the engine sounds as the car goes thru gears. Almost like muffler sounds, which is probable normal sounds outside the car, but they are heard inside the car. Almost like there is nothing to dampen the sounds between the engine firewall and the interior.

I would check your catalytic converter pipes and midpipes with flex section for leaks.

Thank You
It might just be the twin turbos you hear. They are noticeable when accelerating, particularly from a stop, but then quiet down once up to speed. Several members have commented on that.

My vehicle is a '21 Platinum and exhibits much engine noise when accelerating. Even light acceleration. Frankly it's the nosiest vehicle I've ever owned.
My award winning dealership confirmed the vehicle is operating as designed.
As Peterk9 indicated, it's most likely the turbos and the lack of any sound deadening in the vehicle.
I've owned 4 other turbo charged vehicles and none of them were noisy like the Explorer.

The ST has fake engine noises pumped through the sound system to make the vehicle sound more aggressive. I'm not sure if the Platinum does the same, but if it does, that could very well be what you are hearing.
