Have you checked the battery voltage with a volt meter before you start your truck? Low voltage causing a heavy load on the alternator is my guess, since you have changed the belts. You are sure the belts are not too long, causing the tensioner to bottom out without not enough tension aren't you?

:thumbsup:yes gatorback was 1/4 smaller was tight will check battery next, thanx

 checked battery 13.27 motor off, started up and went to 14.47 and then as high as 19.10

A battery should never be above 16Volts for Charging, I would take off the alternator and get it tested, or just replace it.

:thumbsup:plan on replacing alt friday , thanks:D

Well, just to be safe, check it first. No sense in replacing it if it is not the problem. you may even be able to just replace he part that is wrong with it, instead of buying a new $150 Alternator. With time the regulators tend to go bad, and leak A current int the battery, which can ruin a lot.
