I need some info from you all! As some of you know, I'm trying to figure out why my engine is backfiring and some of the feedback is to clean certain parts. What is the best way to clean (if it IS an option), my MAF, TP, O2, IAC sensors and FPR? I read in my manual that I shouldn't submerge my FPR because it could damage it. Is this true with that and the rest of the parts? I'm trying to get the best results without having to buy them first. Is Sea Foam a good cleaner? Thanks for any info!

For cleaning the MAF, I'll refer you to Jeff Singleton's site (there's a link to it in the useful threads forum I believe). It's all there including pictures.
TP is a simple potentiometer attached to the throttle plate. No real option for cleaning (except maybe the contacts in the plug)
I've seen some suggest that O2 sensors can be cleaned (probably with a torch or something), but I'm not sure how practical it really is.
IAC -- Take it off and clean it out with throttle body cleaner. Wouldn't hurt to use a few q-tips to get inside the valve a little.
FPR -- If the FPR is dirty, a good fuel injector cleaner should clean it out. What shouldn't you submerge the FPR in? The FPR is a basic backpressure regulator -- I'm not sure how submerging it would hurt it (not sure how submerging it would clean it out, either).

Thanks Guys! I just love this site!
