ok ive had a prblem with my muffler making a weird noise for atleast a week now and i planned to get it replaced on saturday. anyway, today i tried to install my kkm air intake kit only to find that it wouldnt fit. but when i put the stock filter back in and started the engine, i tried to floor it in neutral and the rpm's will only go up to 2000 before the explorer starts shaking. i let off the gas and tried again except this time instead of flooring it i went slow and everything worked fine. so basically im just wondering if the muffler or intake could have anything to do with this problem. ive tried many times and i still cant push the pedal to the floor without the car shaking at 2000 rpm's. i have to let off the gas and go slowly.......any help would be greatly appreciated!!

took it to the shop today and found that my catalytic converter was going bad.....damn!

If you got less than 80 or 85k i think ford will fix it for free. Mine went out at 78k and ford said it still was under warranty. If its not, Ford dealer will try to charge you $800 to fix. :-(

i just hit 87k and im the second owner:frustrate
