hi, i have a 91 X with a/c. i would like to remove the engine to rebuild it, but i'm a little worried about the a/c system. is there a way i can remove the engine without disasembling the a/c?

sure, leave the compressor in the truck when you pull the motor

agrees :)

When I rebuilt my 91 engine, I unbolted the compressor and tied it up while I pulled the engine. It takes some work, its tight, but you can do it- you may need an extra hand to hold it out of the way while the engine comes out. But I had no problems keeping the system intact while I yanked and replaced the engine.

tip: get the gaskets from Ford for the rebuild they are much better than the aftermarket from Fel-pro etc. I used a mix of Ford and Felpro, had I known I would have used all Ford. The intake, valve cover, and oil pan are a must from Ford. Torrie at Ford parts network is a great source.

thanks guys!:)
