2020 Ford Explorer ST
Hello! I have a 2020 Explorer ST that is unfortunately 8,000 miles past its new vehicle warranty, and appears to need a full engine replacement. I have found reconditioned engines, but am looking for a local place...other than a dealership where the labor costs are crazy expensive...to do the work. I am in the 17020 zip code. Any references would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ouch, that sounds terrible. What happened to the engine? You may want to take a look at Facebook Market. I have seen many engines available there from dismantlers.

Ebay has some. Most are about 3K plus shipping.

Since you are not that far past warranty, give Ford customer service a call and ask for some good will. Did a dealership diagnoise this? What exactly was wrong with it?

Welcome to the Forum.
It's unfortunate that this had to be your 1st post here.
I agree about calling Ford first to see what they have to say. You've got nothing to lose.
What happened to cause an engine replacement?

Peter

Call Ford and start a case. If a Ford dealer hasn't diagnosed it, Ford will not consider any help until a dealer does.
