So my 2014 PIU recently ran into the following problems in this order:
White smoke cloud upon startup. - happened only once and ran fine for about a day and a half.
No boost - became slow as molasses and built no boost. Happened simultaneously with:
Under heavy acceleration shifts out of gear appropriately but does not engage next gear. revs increase slowly as if it was in gear and accelerating at an average speed.
about 30 miles after that low oil pressure. has a good oil level.
parked. towed to the dealer where we bought it because we have put 8,000 miles on it in 7 months. dealer says it needs a water pump and a cat. clearly this is not all it needs. I'm thinking one of the cat's. failed and the debris entered and ruined the turbo. I'm not sure how that should affect the transmission or the oil pressure though.
I'm considering an engine replacement. Is the ecoboost from the taurus the same?
