engine stalls in idle/Ford sport trac 90,000/05

I have a Ford Sport Trac 2005, engine works great when going but drops rpms and shuts off on ocassion...has 90,000 miles. What can that be?

sounds like the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. Might be wrong. I'd say clean it first and then see what happens. Can't hurt to clean it.

Also replace your Throttle Position Sensor. It cost ruffly $24 or so. My 98 sport was doing the same thing. Changed the ICV and TPS and runs so smooth now.
