What about the transmission? will it stay the same ? or have to change

go to svtperformance.com forum and go to the market lots of cobra engine and computer and wiring harnesses parts you can do a engine swap easy and have a supercharge corba engine . i have a mach 1 mustang and i get all my parts on it and info.
get a long block from engine http://engineguy.com/ and swap the engine they got engine block for 3000$ if you need any info for the svtperformance site let me know im on my 3rd engine guys sell part for cheap cheaper then a junk yard

I would love to swap for a Terminator but the thing is I don't know if the dohc 4v would work with all electronics, accessories and etc...considering stock is a sohc 2v (correct me if Im wrong please), nevermind the supercharger fitting under the hood lol.

But if a dohc 4v engine would work without too much trouble I'd source one at junkyard outta 2002 Lincoln Continental, 2003-04 Ford Mustang Mach 1 or something, rebuild it, cobra valve covers and put a supercharger on my future shopping list!

Anyone know for sure or have done a similar swap?

i have a mach 1 mustang and the ecu and wiring harness is different it fits but its tight.

get a gt motor and and tor-tek supercharger kit and have a 500hp explorer.

Hello all, I'm a long time reader but new member and am thankful for this site!

That being said, I have an 02 Mountaineer (4.6 AWD, vin engine code W) that Ive had for a short time (less than a year) that was severally neglected maintenance wise before it became mine and so after much time, effort and money (trans included) It seems a new engine is around the corner.

Question is what are my options? What can I put in (better than old, 4.6 3v, 5.4 etc?) that I can find outta a junkyard maybe and rebuild? I dont wanna guess and buy something that wont fit or work right because of whatever reason, ie space, electrical and etc... I'm pretty mechanical and have swapped engines in different rides of mine and have learned the best way to find something out I don't know is to ask lol.

Thanks in advance!

bore the engine to 11.1 and up grade
1-cold air intake KN
2- cat back exaust
3-under drive pulleys http://www.hensonperformance.com/Productsften.html
4-cams http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-comp-cams-xe262ah.html
5-Ford Racing 90mm Mass Air Meter / Sensor http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-90mm-maf.html
6- tune the truck. 93 octane
7-coilpacks http://www.americanmuscle.com/accel-sohc-coilplug-9904.html
8-injector Ford Racing EV6 High Flow Injectors - 24 lb http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-ev6-24-injectors.html

this will be cheaper then getting a new engine and you gain around 100hp

YES YOU CAN!if the engine is facing the front,if it side ways no,both mount the same & you may need to change iol pan to fit properly, don't mix blocks tho stik with Winsor, romeo, tisk I believe, ford has 3 block names mix windsor with Windsor etc,all ford block s are the same its oil pan, alternator, timing cover, etc I installed a 09 PI 4.6 into 92 crown vic left harness stock, new harness cos 700 bucks! remember all new modual engines are low compression, pick a NEWWER engine. a rite off at the wreckers not a truck engine intake is to high!
