Get as much as you can from the engine donor vehicle, i.e. motor, engine harness, computer harness and all accessories that you can.
This will make it easier to wiring and setup up later on.
As stated before it is not a cheap swap but the results is really sweet. You finally have the power to more the vehicle the way it should.
My first swap was a '88 Ranger/'92 Stang 5.0L HO.
It worked out really well, I used a small booklet from Ford to do the engine/computer hookup (the harnesses are separate in '88).
The most involved part of the swap will be the harnessing because the engine/computer harnesses are part of the main vehicle harness/fusing system, which makes it really complicated.
If you have a friend that is an Auto Electrical Tech it will help to have him there when the wiring starts.
Just a couple of my thoughts on the subject expensive but well worth it.
Good Luck,
p.s. get everything together, everything, and then start the swap.
