I just purchased my X a couple months ago and noticed that there is a low frequency resonant vibration about 2200 rpm. Is this inherent with the earlier explorers? I feel it worst in the floor. It's not really bad, but pronounced enough for me to notice.
I know it's not uncommon for vehicles to have a resonant vibration at certain rpm's. These resonances can then get transferred into the vehicle structure. My Acura has a slight one at 3500 rpm.
I have done a 'vibration' search on the forum, and most of the info appears to be problems at speed. I don't have this. Mine is clearly rpm related. Since I have installed my 2.5" exhaust, I've noticed it's a little worse (I guess changing the mass and geometry of the exhaust has had an ill affect).
Anyone else experienced this? Have any ideas on how to minimize/eliminate this?
Anyone tried a braided stainless flexible exhaust couple between the CAT and muffler?
Thanks.
