Engine Won't Start, Fuel Pump Relay?

found problem, pcm was fried.alls good now.

Hey Guys,
This is my firts time here, I just read the thread "Engine Won't Start, Fuel Pump Relay? from Badge49. I am having a similar problem with my son's 96 XLT. He called me from the mall and said he has plenty of cranking battery power but it will not start. how do i check to see if it is the Crank Position Sensor.

I am having the same problem with my 1995. I have changed the fuel filter, tried a fuel pump relay from my sisters (running) 96, cleaned the crank position sensor, checked for spark at the plugs (getting spark). I pulled the fuel line before the filter and had someone crank the motor and no fuel came out. Bad fuel pump?

Crankshaft Position Sensor

Alright, after paying WAY too much for a little piece of plastic (Ford Part #DY-1061), I crawled under my truck and painstakingly replaced the "Crank Position Sensor" (not to be confused with the "crank angle sensor"). See the below pictures of sensor and location as viewed from below:

My utmost appriciation goes out to you guys for helping me; I don't know what I would do without this forum! I still don't really understand how the crank sensor causes the truck to not start, but at least everything runs again!:navajo:

What is the difference between these two pieces (Crankshaft Position Sensor)?
The two are Crankshaft Position Sensor and serve the same truck model and year. (1997 Ford Explorer 4.0 OHV)
What is the difference?
In the past rockauto sell the two options, now number only 02. Is that the part was replaced?
