...a friend of mine is driving a company vehicle, the Escape (xls I think). She doesn't like it because it has no center console. Anyone here seen aftermarket centers for them? Thanks in advance.

Not a custom made one but I'm sure K-mart or Target has one of those center console ones that it'll fit right in.

Good luck!

I've got the same problem in my wifes escape. There is a escape forum. www.escapecentral.com I'm a member over there but don't post alot cause alot of the people seem to be rude almost flaming type (with escapes, ha) but i don't know of anything aftermarket. You can use one from a store because of the ebrake. You can use one from an XLT but you'll have to move the ebrake from the drivers side of the seat over toward the passenger seat.

thanks folks!

What do you guys think of the Escape???
I have thought of getting one for our family vehicle to drive around town and short trips but I haven't ridden in one yet.

Just got back from a camping trip with ours. First trip we've had it on since we bought it.

I like it. Lower to the ground so it's easier to load. Gas mileage wasn't bad about 17 with load and bikes on the roof.

I'm just waiting for the torque convert to fall out. Pretty weak in these things. It's been replaced once already.

But over all i love it. I'd buy another one.

escapes of the future

Hey I saw this thing on TV about a new hybrid escape ford is coming out with. Seemed like a great idea to me.

This thing doesn't need auxilary charging and appears to maintain the present cargo capicty. Said to look for them on the market at the end of 2004.

Oh ya the thing that made me interested was the 40 MPG in the city and "V6" like power.....whatever that means. could you imagine that 40 in the city w/o power losses compared to current stock V6's

just thought i would throw that out there if anybody is thinking about one of these vehicles.

Over here Ford call it the Maverick. Here are some pics.

My Dad had a Maverick. O wait, it was a 1973 RWD car:rolleyes:

I drove a demo a friend that worked at a dealership had. It was nice. Limited with leather seats, sunroof, 6-disc, tube steps and roof rack. That thing had some pick-up and rode tons better than the '95. Where is the redline for those things? The tach goes to 8000!!
