...and I found a crack in the passenger side one; I have been worried they will do it again. They did last almost five years that way, but I think the repeated hits to the rear T-Bar mounts (mine are real dented and bent
) contributed to the bolts breaking.
Looking at the bolt, it is not very big and after doing a Tortion Twist for my lift, 3/4s of the bolt is above the threaded block and has a bunch of torque on it fron the T-Bars.
I'm having my fabricator friend make a new thicker block that a larger bolt will go into. The new block will be welded in place of the stock one and the larger bolt will be machined to have a rounded tip like the stock bolt. With a thicker block for the bolt to go through, less will be exposed and should help support the TQ from the T-Bars better. Having a larger bolt in there will make me feel a lot better and I will be able to choose a bolt that will not stick out as far as the stock ones do now.
Lastly we are going to be making a thicker cover for the rear T-Bar mounts to help protect it.
