torsion bar adjuster bolt

hey guys!! this maybe a stoopid question. i was adjusting the height of my truck yesterday. the head of the torsion bolt snapped off. i saw in a thread where a 2 jaw puller could be used to relieve pressure on the bar. do you put it on the torsion key and crossmember when doing this?

the key has 2 dimples in it; one is where the adjuster bolt sits, and the other is farther outboard.
the outboard dimple is where you would put the tool
