Just a question. I have a '91 EB. Every other time I go to start her up, It cranks for about 4-5 seconds. Other times, It pops right over when I turn the key. It doesn't matter what the temp is or if is is a hot start or a cold start. It seems to make up its own mind. Is this a problem in the making, or am I just paranoid and should just live with this little quirk?
I'm thinking it may be the starter. It is still the original, like most everything in my engine. Any help would be great.

Have you replaced your battery cables? Next guess would be fuel pump. There is a valve that prevents gas from flowing back to the tank. If this goes, it takes a while for the pump to get the gas to the injectors. One way to test is to turn the key to on and wait 5 seconds (you should hear the fuel pump whining, pressurizing the system). Then turn to start. If it starts right up every time, chances are the FP is the problem.
