Example of Explorers on 20's, 21's, 22's

That proves your point...?

So because I like to compete in sound competitions and because I go by a certain name and my club goes by a certain name that proves your point. That I want to be a gangster and a rapper right...nope sorry...that was possibly the worst possible try at proving your point...oh and if you are trying to point to the "kronix" thing...yeah I have smoked weed and I enjoyed in....I am a year or two older and a year or two wiser and slowed that down a bit but you know what there are plenty of "white" (hate using it) people that smoke weed also....get over it....everyone is a person no reason to seperate them....

I am greek, italian, and black so what point are you proving....and I was raised by a single white mother for 16 years....so again what point are you proving...lets not get personal here because I believe that is against some forum rule....

Oh and back to the actual topic before someone so RUDELY changed it so he could voice his irrelevent opinion....

I have always been a fan of a lowered truck. But with my new truck I think I might lift it...not really sure....

Nah, was more pointing to the "If first place ain't good enough I'll just pop everyone and take their trophies too...."

From that, "HotCtyPlaya", and the "Kronix" name in your website it just looks like you want to sound like a gangster. Perhaps I'm wrong. I was just trying to make a point earlier that it seems like the larger rims go with the bling bling types. It wasn't my intention to offend anyone. Maybe I used the wrong words.

haha, thats funny about their van having some cheap chrome hubcaps!! LMAO!

I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on that.

I wouldn't say that if you have 20"+ wheels, you're black. I WOULD say that if you drive a stock Escalade on anything that's larger than 20", 90% chance you're an african american.

Stereotypical, yes, but true.

Can't agree on any of those comments I think it depends on the area.....

OK, that is what I was talking about... Thx

Hi, guys. We're getting an new 04 XLT Sport in a few weeks, and I was considering some larger (18") wheels for handling and highway... Does anyone have the size and offset specs for the stock 17" wheels?

BTW, I agree with the prevailing opinions: the super-large wheels are useless. They seriously degrade handling quality and acceleration. "Cartoonish" is how I would describe the look. Kinda like how those strippers with the super-humongous boob jobs look ridiculous. I personally would never go wih anything greater than 19". 20" I might consider on the newer X's...

Forgot to mention that the larger, heavier wheels and tires will seriously degrade he life of your suspension components, to say nothing of the HUGE dent they'll put in your wallet... especially after you have to replace that first set of tires...

Save it dude, you're preaching to the choir.

I say that the size of the rims should fit the size or theme of the truck or vehicle. Like 20's on a mustang is sooooo ugly I would gagg myself to death while puking. But maybe those same 20's on another vehicle would look killer! Either way I think that 20's look pretty decent on the new gen explorers and that certain styles of 18's look the best on the older gen explorers. When I had a 2000 explorer I had some 20's on it and after seeing a few other 2nd gen explorer with some nice 18's I think those just fit that chassis design better. There is a guy on one of the other furoms that goes by the name 98X5.0 I think or something like that. I think that his is one of the nicest and cleanest looking 2nd gens I have seen out there. Yeah it may look simple and not really respect worthy for all of you exterior styling guru's but I just cannot get over how clean that explorer looks!!! If I had it to do over again you bet I would have mine looking like that one. But since I have a new gen I think the 20's fit it better than what 18's would. For a look at a few other X's with 20s on them here is my old explorer(maroon) followed by my new 3rd gen explorer (black).

Oh and this is not coming from me but from other people that saw me around here in my explorer before they saw who was driving it. I am a white guy, but for some reason people always thought it was some black guy driving around in my truck(because of the rims). I do have dark tint so they could not see who it really was unless I had my windows rolled down. But either way i thought it was kind of ridiculous that they thought that when i see more white kids with big gaudy rims than black people, at least down here anyways it seems that way. I try not to profile people. Kind of like sports cars! I always look inside them. Yeah most of the time I will see some dude. But every once in a while it is a hott chick who wants to race. If I would have profiled I would have missed out but I dont do that. I GIVE ALL HOTT CHICKS A FAIR CHANCE!!! BLACK OR WHITE!!!

Rob, I like your Black X better. They give it more of a street look rather than a flashy look. The duals are sweet too. I'm just not a huge fan of chrome and putting a lot of bling into an X or any vehicle. I like the grey sport rims that a few vehicles out there have. No matter what size I think they'd be sweet. Kind of like how the XTerras and some of the Liberties have the grey rims with the silver.

Yeah the tough street look was what I was going for when I got those. My old explorer I kind of changed themes in the middle going from a bling bling ride to a streetruck racer. That is why I went form working on the exterior to strictly under the hood.

Thoise points are pretty irrelevant. If you can afford the wheels and tires in the first place then you can afford to replace them when they are worn. The weight argument may apply but it also applies to the off roaders too, but no one ever mentions or *****es about that. I have 20"s on my Explorer and haven't had any problems running them. My 24"s for my '04 Hemi Ram I just ordered will be here in a couple weeks and after dropping $8000 on rims and tires I won't hesitate to replace the tires when they're wornout in 2 years

Well, I ordered a set of 22s this past weekend. Some Boss 304's with Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. They look awesome IMO. Wont be putting them on though til April. Will post some pics once I get them on...
