exhaust questions

I have about a 300lbs system in the back plus all my deployment gear so about 450lbs +. 265/70-17 intake, 40 series flowmaster( sounds awsome) 2.5 piping and only 3 bends all the way back. that's why I figured I get crappy gas milage but the motor did need a tune up

almost 800lbs of extra weight with the underpowered V6 will kill your MPG's

I have a 70 series flowmaster with 2.5 exhaust that exits in the same location, just closer to the body, and I think that it think sounds great. Gives you more rumble without being overly loud. Flowmasters get my vote.

How much of the exhaust did you have to change to put on flowmaster 40? Is anything custom bent? how much money we talkin. I thought the MAC catbak from henson was a good price (TK4002 about $250). As far as the MPG's, its been below 20 degrees for a while now. I was out one day when it was up to 38 and my gas mileage readout was back at 18. was reading 14-15 when it was 15-20 degrees out. I had no Idea 20 degrees would make such a difference. or maybe something is throwing off the computer calculation.

Anyway, tell me more bout hookin up the Flowmaster 40

if you just go with the MUFFLER... heres what i paid

i paid ( 97$ ) for the FLOWMASTER DELTA FLOW 40 SERIES...

then paid ( 120$ ) for the install ( DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU GO 4 INSTALL )...

I watched the guys install mine, and they dont have to bend any pipe to fit a muffler, other than flanging the pipe so the muffler inlet/outlet will be the same size as the pipe...

for a CAT BACK EXHAUST it will require the pipes to be bent and go over the driver side of the rear axle... thats the only major bending for that install
