Exhaust Rattle (Solved)

I had a rattle when in drive for the past 6 months and I couldn’t find the source of it. I hit all the heat shields on the exhaust but couldn’t reproduce the sound. But I missed one.

After 20 years the clamp behind the muffler finally broke.

I replaced it with a 2” clamp.

I had to mount if upside down so it could fit around the shield correctly. No more annoying rattle

I’ll definitely be stopping by the ford dealer tomorrow to see if they really stand behind their warranty

I had a couple heat shields break loose at the welds, maybe a decade ago. I wrapped some 12ga copper wire around them as a temporary fix. It's still holding up.

You just reminded me I have some 16 gauge wire I could’ve tried first.
