Exploder left me stranded for the first time

Well, it was my wife. After 170,000 miles we finally had to have it towed. The serpentine belt snapped, which caused it to lose power steering and get hot. The belt only had 50,000 miles on it. She said as soon as she saw the temp guage on H she pulled over and shut it down. I met the tow truck driver and started it up and it ran fine. I'm just hoping the head gasket didn't blow!!!

AC compressor bearing seized up....great.....off to the junkyard I go...

it happens. but usually the compressor grinds loudly letting you know for many miles in advance that there is a clutch/bearing problem.

YeahtThis one didn't make any noise before it let go. Oh well, at least my wife made it home safe and no major engine damage.
