It´s possible to fit a 35x12.5x16 tires on Explorer 99 2-doors with a Superlift kit for Ranger + 2"-3" body lift kit ??
I cannot find a body lift kit for Explorer. Where I can buy it ?

whats up man? i dunno much about your situation but i am lookin for a lift for my 99' sport too, and so far all the doors have been slammed in my face when i ask dealers for a lift kit for the late model explorers. Trailmaster has a 4" suspension lift available but that particular kit is sort of expensive, around the $1600 mark. This is way out of my price range and i am lookin for somethin more resonable but would still yield the same results. Any ideas? hit me back...

Yeah and with that Trailmaster 4" lift you will need a new drive shaft also ($200-$600) if that is outta your budget you can get a '98+ 3 inch (pt# 883) Ranger body lift kit (about $150)and it will go right on your explorer. do a search on the boards there are plenty of people that have done it, Splashman, 2001ExpSport, Robert, and the list goes on.

thanks for the info on that body lift kit, that would definately save me some dinero in the long run! i am trying to eventually run maybe 32x11.50's or maybe even 33's, would that body kit give me enough clearance to do so?? hit me back....

If you do the 3" body lift and then do a TT/shackle lift you will be able to fit a 33x12.5 with no problem. With the 3" BL alone you will be able to fit the 32x11.5 with absolutely no problem at all.

This is a '99XLT with the 3" body lif tand the TT/shackles running a 33x12.5. it is splashman

awesome, that looks good man, thats pretty much the look that i want my explorer to have..i was just lookin around on some other threads in here and a few of them mentioned changing gear ratios when running 33's is that required and if so is it expensive?? hit me back...

What is your current gear ratio? If you don't know look at that sticker on your door jam and there is a spot that says AXL (or something like that) there should be a code like D4 or 41 or something like that. go check what the code is and lemme know, hurry up go, go, go, lol

this is the chart of codes, match yours up to here, and lemme know what it is.

43 Open 3.08

41 Open 3.27

42 Open 4.10

46 Open 3.73

45 Open 3.55

D4 Limited Slip 3.73

D2 Limited Slip 4.10

L73 Limited Slip 3.73

well dude i could do that but since i am a college student and living in the dorms i have to park my freakin car like 2 miles from here so i can't go look right now but, i am gonna get my ex from the lot later today so i'll hit u back after i check out that sticker..ha ha ha:hammer:

do you have the stock 15's or 16's?

i put the chart up there (look up)

i know that it is the limited slip but i am unsure of which exact one it is..:(

since you have the stock 16's most likely you have the D2 code (<----don't quote me on this<----) which is the 4.10 LS. in that case with the SOHC you have you should not have any problems with running a 33" tire.

cool deal that relieves a little bit of my confusion with things, i didn't want to get into changing my gear ratios around because it seems like a big hastle and it would be more money down the drain..;)

Personnaly, I would not run 35s with 4.10 gears... my 33s and 4.10 work good, but I wouldn't want it to take off any slower than it already does... highway speed is great, but take off is lacking. I am planning on do in the "Jefe mod" some time this summer and then getting a set of 35s to run on the trail, but keep my 33s for everyday. Just my $.02.
By the way here is a pic of mine vers my dad's stock '00...

And here is Yukon's '01 Sport with the Trailmaster 4" and 3" body (no shackles or TT)...

true, i wasn't planning on running the 35's i am going to stick to 32's or 33's with my setup. i am just going for a more massive appeal and better off-road performance. plus i am trying to stay in a relatively cheap budget range. also what are your opinions on the tt/shackle lift? and what is the price range of those..

if you get the Warrior products shackles(rear) they run about $50. the Tortion Twist (TT) (front)is free and this will give you about 1.5" of lift. You can read this for info on the TT

http://www.explorer4x4.com/torsionbars.html

The TT is free (sort of--you'll need to pay for an alignment afterwards) and the shackles can be bought from www.desertrat.com for about $55 shipped to your door. You'll have to call their number and ask for them though, since they are not listed on the website. Many people on the boards are running this setup and like it, and have had no problems. I plan on doing this myself when it's time for new tires.

The T/T is free...
Tortion Bar Lift
The shackles cost about $60 and I got mine from Desert Rat
I have had NO problems with either.
The body lift cost me $130 from J C Whitney
and it is the Ranger lift #883. Everything in the kit will work perfect, except for the rear bumper brackets, which you will have to bend stait, or just get some made. On some of the Sports we did we actually reused some of the stock bolts. Here is a great write-up by 2001ExpSport...
3" Body Lift...

Thank´s guys.
Which is better?..the trailmaster kit o the superlift kit for ranger ?. I need a new drive shaft too with the superlift kit ? I am confused, it´s possible or not to fit 35x12.5 ? Or you don´t recommend that?

Thank you for your support.

The superlift kit is better because the steering setup they use is light years ahead of trailmaster's. Not sure about the driveshaft thing, you could always call them. I would like to know also. What reason do you have to run 35's? Do you do extremely hardcore wheeling? IF not, run 33's and slap a rear locker on it and you will be amazed at what it can do.
