Explorer 99 2-door suspension kit ?

i wouldn't reccomed running the 35's on a daily driver but you can if you want, i know GAGE does it. but with the 4" suspention lift (either one, trailmaster or superlift) You will need the new driveshaft. (i would reccomend superlift). If you do the 4" suspention lift and the 3" body lift together (7" total lift) You may be able to fit 35's on there with little rubbing. RAY LOBATO has the trailmaster 4" lift if he sees this thread he will put in his feedback

the reason for the new driveshaft is because your stock driveshaft does not have a slip yoke (it does not expand) because your front differential doesn't move only your control arms. When you install this 4" sus. lift you are relocating your front differential 4" lower that its stock position making the drive shaft too short, (since it doesn't expand).

Suspension Lifts

Ok, Here's my .02.
I have a Trailmaster Ranger lift, but I would get a Superlift kit or wait for the RCD Kit.
The reason I like the Superlift kit is it uses new steering knuckles and not just ball joint extenders and I hate that steering slide. It's working better, but just not as good as I would like it to be. Also my turning radius is bigger than before. I used to be able to make a U-turn on my street before, now I can't do it. I have a 2" body lift and the 4" suspension lift and I can't fit 35's under me without trimming the fenders. I had to go down to 33's. Even now I rub at full compression with the tires turned at 45 degrees.
If you can wait for the RCD coilover kit, do it.
You have to remember that when you lower the front , you also lower the torsion bar 4" too and now you can get hung up on the torsion bars. I have done this plenty of times now. Thank God for my winch. The reason for the new driveline on the Trail master kit is they also drop down the diffy 4", and the angle now is too great and you have to put a double cardin joint on the drive shaft. It will also hit or rub against the tranny crossmember. I also had to get a new drive shaft, but then I knew I would have to because I also installed an Atlas II T-case and had to shorten the front drive shaft. Hope this helps out. I don't have time right now, but maybe this Sunday I will post some pictures up on my registry of some of the components of the lift and other stuff about it.

Ray, thank you very much for the info.
I will buy the Superlift+body kit .
Where I can find information about the drive shaft ?
Regards,
jacm

Some months later, the same lift, but he is running 35/12.5 R15 Good Year MTR's...I believe it rubs with the torsion bars, or in some other place... but no trimming at all...

If you're able to get the suspension lift, ask about it, then go for it, but if you wanna safe some money for now, go with the body lift...I think you will get both of them at the end...
