explorer air ride

I have a 2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer with the air ride suspension. I pulled the 4 shocks on the explorer today and found that I have only air shocks in the rear of the truck and do not have the auto leveling system. There is no switch to turn off the air ride in my truck. I was wondering if anyone else had this option on there truck or is there was any way of getting rid of the air ride.

4-corner Air Ride system applies only '95-'98 Explorers. '99-'01 Explorers only have rear auto load-leveling system. The "off" switch is located in the left rear quarter panel compartment.

I do not have the auto leveling system on my explorer, therefore I do not have a switch to turn off the system. However, I do have the air ride. Has anyone ever eliminated this system from there explorer?
