Explorer Curb Weight

Hello,
How much does a run of the mill 4D, 2WD, V6 Explorer weigh? I'm curious and can't seem to get a straight answer anywhere. I have a '98 XLT SOHC.

it should be on your registraion or in your door jamb on the pillar, Im pretty sure my 94 xlt weighs 3900 lbs stock.

I know my door jam has the GVWR, but it doesn't list the curb weight.

Just about 4000 pounds exactly. My '97 4WD XLT weights about 4100

Go to a scale such as a truck stop, or a scrap yard. I went to a scrap yard years ago with my 91 4x4, and it weighed 4700 pounds.

I think its likely that the four door 4x4's weigh in the high 4500-5000 pound range, especially with the V8. A 2WD V6 will still be well over 4000 lbs.

My 4WD 2dr is listed at about 4400lbs. I think factory measure standards are fluids filled, half tank of gas (might be empty), no driver.
