Anyone know where I can get a "mountaineer" or "expedition" emblem?
or preferably
create my "own" emblem that says "Extruder" or something like that. Want to replace the emblem so I won't have a problem renting Uhauls any more.

Hate to rain on your parade, but that won't work....

Even if you do get them to rent you one, their insurance won't cover you. If you were to get in an accident u-haul would sue the hell out of you for lying about your vehicle and willingly putting others in danger. Not to mention potential criminal charges for the same reason.

Just find a Budget truck rental someplace and get a trailer from them. Save a headache.

What? Why wont uhaul cover a explorer? I rented a trailer and didnt have a problem..

U-hauls policy restricts renting trailers when they to be pulled by an Explorer. Sure, there are ways to get around it; but if you get caught or in an accident you're hosed.

Wow, strictly calls out explorers.. What makes pulling with a explorer any different then a honda pilot or a rav4. I see those pulling small trailers and they arent very strong or well balanced. I drove a rav4 ad with my foot to the floor on the pedal couldnt even hit 60 at the end of the california on ramps.

It has to do with the Firestone recall from years ago. Even though I run really wide, knobby tires they still won't rent to me.

Wow. thats pretty stupid. i run 10.5 wides with 1 inch spacers so i have a wide wheel base.. Well its business they dont get!

I run 10.5's and 2" spacers and they won't rent to me. Do like I did and just hop on craigslist and buy a trailer for like $500, dump another $200 in it to clean it up and then you won't need to worry about it.

indeed. Good thing about living on base is they have an outdoor rec center where i can rent trailers for cheap. like 25 for a weekend.. I pulled a 16 ft with about 500 pounds on it and it drove like a dream! Hey fast question brian, are your spacers hubcentric or non? I bought non but have been reading bad things and plan on switching if they really are that bad..

Yeah mine are hubcentric. You should really switch.

I am. I ordered some. but are yours hub centric to your actual hub on your car, then have the lip on the spacer to mimmick the actual hub? I bought some of those but not sure if the rim will fit over the lip or not..

Where could I get a cheap "Mountaineer" emblem for the back? That's the only location that says "Explorer". Or maybe I just take it off and not have any symbols. That way I'm not "Lying", except on the rental form that asks me what vehicle I'm driving.....which will be "Aviator".

The rental form is a contract you sign. If you lie on it and they find out they can sue you. It doesn't matter that a Mountaineer is the same thing. You can change the emblem but you can't change your VIN. Lie if you want, but to me it's not worth the financial risk.
