Hey guys, this is just a general post. It concerns mods to your X's. I have read a lot of posts about where to get the best prices on your next mod. Everyone here seems to like Explorer Express the best. And I will admit that the website is very good, they have a catalog, and the prices aren't that bad. But the prices are never the best. I just wanted to let everyone know about Summit and Jeg's. You can find them at www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com . Both sites are very good. Also just because something isn't listed on the website doesn't mean they don't carry it. I also own a mustang so maybe I have just found this through searching for parts for my 99 GT, but places that sell solely to Explorers won't have the best prices. Just a thought, the next idea you have for your Explorer, first go to the company's website(like Borla or FRPP), get their part number for it, then go to www.summitracing.com and click on the manufacturer's search. Type in the company's part number and scroll box in the box to the company that you are searching under. It will then display Summit's price and Summit's part number. It will also give you a tentative ship date if it is on back order. I don't mean to sound like a jackass or anything, I am just trying to help everyone get the best prices. Summit also ships for free(but does charge $6 for handling). That $6 charge ain't bad though if you buy expensive products and don't have to pay a percentage of sales as shipping. Just trying to help

I totally agree with you. I don't think I've ever bought from EE, while I use Jegs and Summitracing all the time. Truckperformance.com is also very good.

Let me add though that I do always look at EE when I'm looking for parts. It just happens it never works out that I get it from them for one reason or another.

I have bought from EE and they did give good service. With Summit and Jegs they have parts for all makes and Models. EE is only based off the Explorer. It really depends on your needs. Cause I have also bought from Summit and Jegs and got great service as well.

EE is a supporting sponsor of this site. They do a good deal to help keep it running. Summit and Jegs aren't. Keep that in mind.

About 45% of EE's products are their own products, and cannot be found anywhere else. You will not find much on Jegs or Summit for the Explorer, or should I say not as much as the Blazer, for example. While EE may have some fairly high prices, they are a good source for unique parts.

Plus, as Rick said, they help keep this site running.

im glad someone's used truckperformance.com before, im gonna buy some locking hubs from them but all i knew about them is that they had good prices.

I look at it this way, yea summit is cheaper, but if it's not that much cheaper, I would rather get it from EE because they do support our site. Without the support from companies like EE, it would make the site that much more unprofitable that it wouldn't be worth Ricks time and money. You gotta remember that he's not quite breaking even on this endevor. Yea you're spending alittle more money, but then you are also supporting your favorite website and getting the stuff that you want. Just because it's a free site dosen't mean it don't cost money to run. Many for you spend an incredible amount of time on this site ( me included). It's only right to support it.

Unprofitable is the keyword :) Some months I break even, but usually I am still spending out of pocket.

I thought a while ago there was a thread talking about Explorer Express no longer being recommended or supported by Rick and this site.

The reason I posted that was that he failed to contact me for quite awhile regarding his account. He explained what happened and we squared things away.

Well if I get my way my wife will be sporting an X down the road as well, hers will be 2wd though and I'll sure be going to EE for a lowering kit if she'll let me do it to her truck!!!
