So I have read a lot about the EE sway bars, but are they really worth the cost? I am thinking about getting front and rears for my project truck, I am lowering it 3 inches, and adding a lot of power, I know it the project its self will be expensive, I just want to hear some input from some people who bought them.

Thanks, Harold.

After tires and shocks, upgrading the REAR sway bar was by far the best handling and safety upgrade I've ever done. The stock 19mm rear bar is vastly undersized for the weight of these vehicles. I'm actually using the slightly smaller 1" Addco 633 because EE would not budge on shipping quoting $135 for UPS ground to Hawaii. You may consider upgrading the rear bar first regardless of the pre 1998 bars being hollow. The 1.5" Addco 737 appears identical to the EE "X Spec" front bar.

Good to know, I was under the assumption that EE was the only source for Explorer sway bars?

Another REAR option is the 1" Hellwig 7648 made of chromoly steel.

WOH, that's a lot cheaper, I like cheap, not garbage cheap, but good cheap.

I just bought the kit for my 96. I haven't gotten a chance to drive it yet but I don't even have to. I can't believe the difference vs the stock bars. This thing is going to handle like a car after this. I plan on pushing this AWD 5.0 though the turns to see what she can do.

The EE rear bars are worth every penny. I have one on
both my Sports, with upgraded poly bushings on the
front. They really do improve the handling, keeping the
truck level through turns with no leaning. It improves
safety too, IMHO.
