OMG it worked holding down the L & R button at the same time! Thank you so much!
I took mine into the shop and they fixed it for meMy 2020 Ford Explorer Limited has power 3rd row seats. But, the seats are stuck up and I cannot get them down. I had it looked at by dealerships and they are telling me it is a computer issue. I was told it is a known issue and the Ford Factory Engineers are looking to find a solution. Has anyone else had this issue? I need the 3rd row to go down so I can utilize my cargo area.. Can I manually put them down? The Ford dealerships don't know how to put them down either... Super frustrating.
Yes, I had the software update at the dealership and they fixed all my recalls and my screen is still black/gray/blue after the update. They had to now order a whole new screen and stuff. Thank god for extended warranty lolUnfortunately I found that video too and it didn't work for me. I'm also affected by the rear camera recall so I'm wondering if it has to do with a software update
Agreed!!!!Just get the powerfold seat module firmware update. I haven't had any issues since. I wish dealers would update all modules on request. It would solve a lot of problems people have been experiencing, especially for MY2020-2021.
I got so fed up with playing the dealership game with warranty issues that I went ahead and bought a Mongoose J2534 adapter and leased Ford FDRS for 2 days to update all the modules myself. It has made a world of difference. Worth it for me even though it was pricey.
Someday I hope manufacturers will just push out module updates OTA like Tesla does and you don't have to suffer through flawed module programming.

Welcome to the Forum. So glad I found this forum. That solved my problem! Thank you!
I posted this same issue right after I purchased my 2020 Limited. The left seat was stuck up but after Googling, YouTube, and even reading the owner's manual I found the proper procedure to "reset" the seats - holding down the L/R (center) button until the seat reset and traveled down and back up. All good since then.So glad I found this forum. That solved my problem! Thank you!
Hold down left and right buttons at same time, for about 30 seconds. Work for me.At my local Ford dealership they are telling me that it is a know issue by the Ford Engineers. And they also don't want to replace the computer module since they believe it is a computer issue? But if it's a computer issue then I don't understand why they refuse to replace the computer module for the seat? Am I missing something? Everything is still under warranty as well. I have been told by the dealership that the Ford Engineers are working on a solution and I have to wait until they figure out how to fix it. I was hoping there is a way to put the seats down in the meantime so I can utilize the cargo area.

Hold center button for about 10 seconds seemed to help too.
Damn I hope my ESP covers that on my 2020!2020 Ford Explorer ST. 3rd row, passenger side seat was stuck down. Didn't work when hitting the button. The reset did not work. Software update did not work.
Brought to the dealership, it has been there for 17 days...switch replaced, then module replaced, then tried a new motor. That didn't work. They are saying I need new assembly which would be an additional $3400 and is on back order. I have no faith in this dealership that they know what they are doing. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
No, do not hear a motor. So brought it in stuck down. I have it back now, stuck up. They said at one point after switch install, the seats were inverted, pressing L brought up right and pressing R brought up Left. But now not working at all? So to me, how could assembly be damaged if the seat moved just in the past week? I tried pushing the seat while I pressed the button, didn't work.^^ Welcome to the Forum.
Do you hear a motor working when you press the switch? Have you tried to manually lift it into place?
Peter
Had done this previously. Doesn't work.Hold down left and right buttons at same time, for about 30 seconds. Work for me.

So in other words, the dealer didn't fix the initial issue and actually made it worse. So what did they say about the problem? Why didn't they reair it?
Peter
No, the dealer didn't fix it. They recommended a cross bar assembly, which would be $3500 with labor but part is sold out with no ETA for when it would be available. So in other words, the dealer didn't fix the initial issue and actually made it worse. I would go with the "power issue". Possibly a connector problem?Had done this previously. Doesn't work.

I personally have now taken the 3rd row apart. Both motors work but there is no power going to the right 3rd row seat. Voltage checked on the switch shows power to the left but no power on the right or center? This isn't a mechanical issue, it's a software or power issue.
