Hey guys,

Im a newbie on the board, and basically am just here to ask a question from Explorer owners.

A. Has anyone have any specifics on the Electronic HVAC controller? I want to try to replace my manual HVAC, but its hard to find research on it. Is it easy to go from manual to digital?

B. Has anyone taken out, or know how the Center Console (the dash to rear console) installs? Is it a plate thats welded to the frame? Is it just screws?

Welcome to the board!! As for your questions, I'm not sure on the first one, but on the second, the console is bolted down to the floor pan. It's not really that hard to get out.

When you refer to the console...

The console itself isnt that hard to get up, or the entire assembly isnt tha hard to get up?

I wanna try to install it in my ranger, and wanna see how much work is involved.

Also, if you can tell me. If i were to go to the junkyard and I wanted the assembly, what should i take?

On my old '92 Sport the console was in two major pieces that bolted to studs that were welded to the floor pan. The upper section was screwed to a smaller plastic pan that then bolted to the floor. There was also a rear seat heater duct that ran under the console. I'd get that too since the passenger's side of the console bolted to it. You could drill holes into your floor pan and bolt it down in lieu of having the studs in the floor.
